Rules for a full room

The classic rules scale up with two changes: more imposters and a longer timer. With more than twelve, split the room.

FAQ

Party questions

How many people can play the imposter party game?

3 to 12 on one phone, and it’s at its best with 5 to 8. For a bigger party, run two tables with a phone each.

How many imposters for a big group?

One for 3–6 players, two for 7–9 and three for 10–12. The web game plays with one; the Imposter Club app goes up to three, and the imposters don’t know about each other.

Is the imposter game good for adults?

Yes. Grown-up tables get the most out of moments everyone has lived through: Sunday scaries, reply all, the taxi home. The Night out list is for adults only.

Can you play with more than 12 people?

Split into two tables, each with its own phone. Or play a fishbowl: up to twelve players in the middle, while everyone else listens and votes along.

How long does a game take?

A round takes five to ten minutes. A night to 5 points usually fits in 30 to 60 minutes, which leaves time for a rematch.
